A Letter you must read -- Dicker caught Fabricating Again
Good Morning Carl,
It was a great pleasure meeting you at the NYS Business Council reception last week at The Sagamore. As you may know, I was the gentleman that intervened as Fred Dicker continued his overly aggressive and completely unprofessional rant against you. I firmly believe that his behavior was completely out of line and that is why I stepped in between you and Mr. Dicker.
Since that time, I have learned a very valuable lesson about the state of politics in NY and more importantly the pathetic state of journalistic integrity in this state. Over the last 9 days, I have been identified as "the unidentified man, a Paladino goon, a hulking Paladino bodyguard, a Paladino thug and a Paladino staffer". As you know, I am none of those things, I am simply a guy who saw a situation that was quickly escalating and tried to do the right thing.
Additionally, Mr. Dicker has appeared all over Albany and on multiple media outlets stating that he was being pushed around and nearly knocked to the ground by "3" goons from the Paladino campaign (a total fabrication). The whole process has shown me that the media cares very little about detail and quickly attaches to the most dramatic elements of a story regardless of factual basis.
As I told you in Lake George, I am not your average Paladino supporter as I am a 23 year member of a labor union and a lifelong registered democrat. However, I am also a taxpayer who is being driven out of New York State and more importantly a parent who can not in good faith send my child to our failing public school system. I truly "get" your message and have also had enough of the dysfunction and corruption that is so pervasive in Albany.
I wish you the very best in this election and any future endeavors. You should take great pride in knowing that you have finally provided the much needed candor into this year's election.
Be well,

The Debate Debate.
STATEMENT FROM MICHAEL CAPUTO CAMPAIGN MANAGER, PALADINO FOR THE PEOPLE.
"The Cuomo camp has been BSing journalists and the public regarding their intention to debate Carl Paladino and the other gubernatorial candidates for one week, today. We offered to meet for debate planning in a September 26 telephone call; the Cuomo campaign never contacted us as promised.
So far Carl Paladino has accepted seven debate invitations. Andrew Cuomo has accepted none. How long can this charade continue?
Andrew Cuomo's surrogates call Carl Paladino racist, but it's Andrew who seeks to exclude the only black candidate from debates.
Andrew Cuomo holds himself out as an advocate for women's issues, yet it is Andrew who seeks to exclude the only woman candidate from debates.
If Andrew Cuomo doesn't have the courage to debate all his opponents, how can he take on the special interests that are destroying New York?
Andrew Cuomo should stop the games and give the voters the debate they deserve - debate all the candidates now."

Let's Take Out Our Wallets and Take Out the Trash!
Pledge your support now! ***
Dear Friend,
This November we have the opportunity to fight back against the status Cuomo in Albany. With his empty promises, Andrew Cuomo has shown time and time again that he will do nothing to challenge the business-as-usual attitude in the state capital. As you know, I am a Republican, a conservative, and a businessman. But most importantly, I am an outsider - not a politician.
Like you, I am mad as hell at a dysfunctional government and a ruling class of insiders in Albany who don't work in the interest of the people. Like other tea party-backed candidates, I am under attack. Don't let these liberal elites distract you from the real issues; if you want a governor who will really clean up Albany, look to someone who will cut taxes, slash spending and create jobs.
It is time for Albany to hear the thunder of a revolution coming down the road. Make your voice heard this Tuesday October 5th by pledging to participate in our "It's On Money Bomb."
To send a real message to Albany, we have set a goal of raising 105k by midnight Tuesday. Any amount you are willing to give will help take our government back.
Visit ItsOnCuomo.com and join us in our crusade to change New York forever.
It's On!

Talk'n Trash
Statement of Michael Caputo, Carl Paladino Campaign Manager:
"The New York Post sent a photographer to the Buffalo home where Carl Paladino's 10-year-old daughter lives with her mother. This photographer attempted to take photos of the child through the windows and subsequently attempted to follow the girl to a playground.
We believe this conduct puts Carl Paladino's daughter in harm’s way, susceptible to kidnapping or sexual predators. This behavior by The New York Post and their senior political editor Fred Dicker is unacceptable. Endangering the safety of a 10-year-old child is repugnant.
Carl Paladino is passionate about the need to clean up the mess in Albany. The only thing he is more passionate about is his family. Carl is deeply concerned about the privacy of his children and grandchildren. His concern is well founded: in April his corporate and campaign office was threatened with a bomb by a serial felon – this man is being prosecuted today.
Fred Dicker has demonstrated his bias in this campaign from the beginning. Veteran observers recall a similar bias during the campaigns that elected Eliot Spitzer and George Pataki.
On September 17th, Mr. Dicker wrote of Cuomo's "tax and spending cut plan," although Mr. Cuomo has proposed no tax cut and no spending cut. Rather, Andrew Cuomo proposes to "slow the rate of growth of taxes."
When Andrew Cuomo's campaign charged Carl Paladino with receiving millions of dollars in state leases, Mr. Dicker failed to note that Andrew Cuomo or his Democratic predecessor reviewed and approved all of Mr. Paladino's leases.
When Mr. Dicker attacked Paladino campaign chairwoman Nancy Naples, for awarding bond underwriting to an underwriter active in the Conservative Party, Mr. Dicker failed to note that the Comptroller who succeeded Nancy did the very same thing and Nancy was never accused of any improper conduct. And Mr. Dicker knew it, because I told him. He failed to write it because it didn’t fit the Cuomo campaign plan.
Andrew Cuomo is on Fred Dicker's speed dial.
Sadly, while Fred Dicker may be on the payroll of The New York Post, his outrageous bias toward Mr. Cuomo is demonstrated again and again through his coverage of this campaign. Every political reporter and observer in the state knows his bias.
Carl Paladino has been repeatedly asked irrelevant questions regarding relationships he may have had while married. We challenge Fred Dicker to ask Andrew Cuomo this question on the record, since it has been posed repeatedly to Carl Paladino: "Did you engage in extramarital relationships while you were married?" A simple "Yes" or "No" will suffice.
Mr. Dicker will not ask this question of Cuomo, nor will Andrew Cuomo answer it.
Mr. Dicker gets extra Cuomo Brownie Points by claiming Carl threatened him. Carl has used this exact word choice throughout this campaign and several times on Mr. Dicker’s radio show: he’ll take out this government. He’ll take out the bad guys. He’ll take out Sheldon Silver.
Carl feels the same about Mr. Dicker, who is the best example of the cozy relationship some media have with the ruling elite. This is part of the problem in Albany, and Carl will take out the trash.
Mr. Dicker's real purpose in this charade is to help Andrew Cuomo avoid a public debate, where he might be forced to answer questions about his disastrous stewardship of the U.S. Department of Housing, where he's largely responsible for the sub prime mortgage crisis by requiring government agencies to purchase hundreds of millions of dollars worth of bad mortgages, costing U.S. taxpayers $2.4 trillion or why he has failed to prosecute Obama advisor and big Democratic fundraiser Steve Rattner for bribery, instead prosecuting the state official whose brother received the bribe, but not prosecuting Mr.
Rattner, who made the $77,000 bribe in order to receive $75 million in state pension funds.
New York voters can judge Carl Paladino and Andrew Cuomo's relative fitness for the governorship only through such a debate. If Andrew Cuomo does not have the courage to debate his opponents, how can he have the courage to break the stranglehold of the special interests destroying this state?
Carl has returned to Buffalo to console his upset daughter. The Post photographers are gone. But will Mr. Dicker, who has no children, publish the photos? That is Carl’s main concern."

PALADINO: A FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD
Candidate for Governor says Silver must come clean
(BUFFALO, NY) - Buffalo businessman Carl Paladino, a Republican candidate for Governor of New York, today criticized Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver for refusing to tell New Yorkers how deeply he's invested in companies doing business with the State.
"A fish rots from the head, and Sheldon Silver's lack of disclosure leads by example," Paladino said. "Sheldon Silver is hiding something and, because he won't come clean, the rest of his colleagues are likely loaded with conflicts of interest, too."
Silver's stake in companies doing business with the State is a secret protected by New York's farcical disclosure laws. Lawmakers are not required to release how many shares they own beyond noting their value is above $1,000.
"Our state government operates under comically loose ethics guidelines permitting behavior that would be grounds for immediate dismissal at any private sector company," Paladino said. "Not in a Paladino Administration. I would propose, pass and sign an ethics law with teeth requiring every state legislator to reveal all side income and what they do to earn that money - not some legislators, all legislators."
"As Governor I will immediately appoint a special prosecutor with subpoena power to investigate evidence of corruption in government - especially the Legislature," Paladino said. "I will also work to pass eight-year term limits on all elected state officials, eliminating elected officials like Silver who just won't go away."
Carl Paladino, a successful Western New York real estate developer and attorney, is a Republican candidate for Governor of New York. He and Tom Ognibene, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, petitioned their way into the Republican Primary and canvassed to create a new Taxpayers ballot line.

WBEN Report: Niagara County GOP To Endorse Paladino
- Tuesday, 17 August 2010 3:39AM
Tom Connolly Reporting
Lockport, NY (WBEN / City Hall) -- The Niagara County Republican Committee is about to switch gubernatorial horses in mid-election season.
The publication City Hall reports County Chairman Mike Norris will announce today he is backing Buffalo developer Carl Paladino for governor, after being one of the first to line up behind main rival Rick Lazio.
Norris is expected to be joined at this morning's event in Lockport by former county chair Henry Wojtaszek, Erie County chair Nick Langworthy, and State Senator George Maziarz.
Norris will become the fifth county chair to support the insurgent candidacy of Paladino, joining Erie, Orleans, Genesee and Cayuga Counties.
"While we've already pushed over the first domino, this is the biggest one so far," a source close to Paladino said to City Hall. "The county chairman that support us are working together to move counties into our column."
Support for Paladino had been growing in other quarters that weren't that enamored of Lazio in the first place. For example, Cayuga County chairwoman Cheryl Heary originally backed the brief candidacy of Myers Mermel, saying that he was "not Rick Lazio."
But Niagara County went for Lazio early, making public stands in his support in November and December of 2009. So this defection could mark a troubling trend for the GOP front-runner.

CAYUGA COUNTY REPUBLICANS ENDORSE CARL PALADINO
(BUFFALO, NY) - Cayuga County Republican Executive Committee and Chairwoman Cherl A. Heary today endorsed Buffalo businessman Carl Paladino for Governor of New York. Chairwoman Heary joins a growing trend of Republican county chairs switching to endorse Carl Paladino as the candidate that best represents the interests and values of their constituencies.
"On behalf of the Cayuga County Republican Executive Committee, I proudly endorse Carl Paladino for Governor of the State of New York," Heary said. "Carl is a successful businessman and attorney who understands the burdens placed on employers in New York State. Carl has also demonstrated he won't be bullied by the career politicians and he has shown he will do what he says."
"Republicans who want lasting change need to vote for Carl Paladino on September 14th because he has the energy, passion and ability to make Albany work for the people once again," Heary said.
"I am thankful for the endorsement of the Cayuga County Republican Executive Committee and Chairwoman Heary," Paladino said. "This campaign is about changing the way Albany works and I am going to lower taxes, cut spending and reform the status quo. As this race unfolds, GOP county chairs across the State are learning I am the only true reformer in this race. They're also coming to agree with rank-and-file Republicans who know Rick Lazio is a good man who simply cannot win."
Heary joins a growing list of Republican county committee chairs endorsing Carl Paladino, including Richard Siebert of Genesee County, Ed Morgan of Orleans County and Nick Langworthy of Erie County.
More county GOP leaders are contacting the Paladino campaign every day and announcements of other endorsements are imminent.

GENESEE COUNTY GOP CHAIRMAN
ENDORSES CARL PALADINO
(BUFFALO, NY) - Genesee County Republican Chairman Richard Siebert today endorsed Buffalo businessman Carl Paladino for Governor of New York in a joint press conference on the steps of the old Genesee County Courthouse. Chairman Siebert's endorsement further cements Carl Paladino as the choice of Western New York Republicans to be the next Governor.
"Carl Paladino is the clear choice for conservatives in the September Republican primary," Chairman Siebert said. "He believes in all the core conservative values, from gun rights to the right to life for all citizens."
"I believe Carl Paladino will do what he says and take out the trash in Albany. We need someone like Carl who can bring about true change in our system and our government," Siebert said. "I endorse Carl Paladino for Governor and ask the Republicans of Genesee County to come out strong for the September 14th primary to show our support."
"Richard Siebert is joining a growing list of Republican leaders who see I am the only voice for real change in Albany," Paladino said. "Now that I am on the Republican ballot and the Taxpayers line, I have a clear path to victory in November."
"Working with Republican chairman across the state, we will mobilize the voters in the Republican Party who want less government, want lower taxes and support a true conservative agenda. I thank Richard for his support and promise to work hard to improve this state."

(BUFFALO, NY) - The campaign of Buffalo businessman Carl Paladino, a Republican candidate for Governor of New York, today filed nearly 30,000 petitions in Albany on the first day possible for filing independent petitions. More than 2,000 Paladino campaign volunteers collected signatures from all over the state including all of the 29 Congressional districts.
"I am truly grateful and humbled by the thousands of everyday citizens who dedicated countless hours to help collect signatures for the Taxpayers petition," Paladino said.
"People across the state have toiled at concerts, county fairs, parades, lawn fetes, and GOP events in 90-degree heat to ensure that candidates representing their values of less government, lower taxes and reform in Albany are on the ballot this November."
The campaign filed almost twice the amount necessary to qualify for the ballot. Thousands of petitions are still arriving daily in the Paladino for the People campaign office and additional signatures may be delivered to Albany in the days ahead. Efforts of the campaign - and Paladino's 2,000-plus grassroots volunteers - now turn to get-out-the-vote efforts for the September 14th primary.

NEW PALADINO TV AD: I'll Stop the Mosque
Mon, Aug 9, 2010 at 12:31 PM
Tell Carl that my wife and I are mad too. If he truly acts as he speaks, then he was sent by God. We will take it for granted that he will and vote for him in the Primary and hopefully beyond.
The MessNBC reporter tried to belittle Caro Paladino by implying that Mr. Paladino had dismissed the Manhattan majority that supported the Mosque. That reporter needed to be reminded that 9/11 was a National tragedy not just a Manhattan Tragedy.

A True Leader
Every so often, I stop to check in with myself about what I am learning during this campaign. Usually, it’s at times when my political motivation level is low. It forces me to look at the deeper picture. Now is one of those times.
To be honest, the political arena hasn’t thrilled me and my interest level in politics hasn’t really flourished as I hoped it might. I wonder to myself every day how Carl can stand to endure this process - so willingly, so courageously, so persistently and so unbelievably enthusiastically.
And then I think more about Carl….and I realize that most of the lessons I am learning by being on this campaign are coming directly from him. They all have to do with character, more specifically, the characteristics of a leader.
I thought about the first conversation I had with Carl about this campaign. How in 5 minutes he had me (someone who never cared about politics) interested in joining him, supporting him and learning from him. I have since watched Carl give speeches to the masses (many who were initially critical and doubtful of his place in this race) and watched their faith in him transform by the end of his message…
…and I learned about Inspiration.
I remember how angry Carl was just before and throughout the beginning of the campaign. “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.” He was fed up with the corruption in Albany. I saw how his anger fueled him to want to make a difference and to ultimately choose to run for Governor. I realized that anger could be channeled in a positive direction…
…and I learned about Motivation.
I recall the first meeting when Carl looked us all in the eye and said, “I can confront the devil. I am resilient.” I remember the impact that statement had on me because I had never heard anyone say that before. I also remember thinking, “Who would ever want to do that?”…
…and I learned about Courage.
I witnessed many people say that Carl didn’t have a chance in this race; that he was an improbable and inappropriate candidate, that he was unfit, and that he would never last. All of these comments only pushed him to fight harder. He fed off of the criticism…
…and I learned about Determination.
I watched the media tear Carl apart, personally and professionally, exposing deeply personal information, some true and some untrue. Attacks on his character were fast and furious and kept coming. The campaign manager said it was the worst media beating he had ever witnessed. Carl said, “Is that all they’ve got?”…
…and I learned about Strength.
When party leaders tried to block Carl from speaking before the vote at the Republican State Convention, Carl found a loophole, nominated himself, and successfully spoke his mind to the attendees. When Carl failed to receive the GOP nomination, he proceeded to collect the signatures he needed to force a primary. Carl just keeps going…
…and I have learned about Persistence.
Every time I see Carl I see bigger bags under his eyes, a bigger smile on his face, and energy pouring out of him with greater force than ever. I also see a man who has demonstrated some incredible character during this campaign.
I see a true leader.

G-20 Toronto Summit Endorses Carl Paladino
As a 19-year-old pitcher with the triple-A Providence Grays, George Herman (Babe) Ruth hit his first professional home run in Toronto in 1914. (Associated Press)
An earthquake in Canada was felt here in New York State this week but this was not the one you heard about on the news. I'm talking about the shock wave from the G-20 Summit in Toronto when the world stood up against Obama-ism and insisted on a roll-back of big government spending.
Obama pronounced to the world that America's freedom can no longer be relied upon to be the world’s source of prosperity. Paladino sees things differently - it is big government that is no longer going to be relied upon.
In a seismic shift, the world, including those very same countries that have served as Obama and Company's template for European style socialism, agrees with Carl Paladino's philosophy - not Obama's.
France, Germany, Britain and others insisted to Obama that the nations of the world should take a baseball bat to their huge deficits.
Obama quaked as the world insisted on a Carl Paladino approach to spending cuts.
Batter up!

The People For Paladino
Carl Paladino has had a lot to say, to the people and for the people, over the last several months. I have made an executive decision. I’ve decided that it’s time hear what the people have to say, more specifically, what the people for Paladino have to say. I recently attended a local campaign event to interview random people about their thoughts on Carl and his candidacy.
For those of you who are still wondering what this man is all about, read on.
Here are a few of the many responses I was given:
“A couple weeks ago I was elected the Chairman of the Erie County Republican Committee and that same night we enthusiastically endorsed Carls candidacy. From that point forward, I’ve been very excited for everything I’ve heard. I know Carl has traveled the entire state and I’ve talked to him frequently from the campaign trail. I think his message is really catching on. He came to this campaign fighting against higher taxes and bureaucracy. He’s saying the things that people are saying back in their living rooms and that’s what makes him different and special. We’ve known this for a long time here in Buffalo, but now the whole state is starting to catch on and realize what Carl Paladino is all about and the grand leadership he is going to bring to Albany as our Governor.” ~ Nick Langworthy
“I’ve known Carl my whole adult life. He is a very dear friend of mine. I believe in him and we need people like him to help us. I think the world of him.” ~ Sam Gullo
“I’ve known Carl since he got started. He’s smart. He is in Western New York. His soul is in Western New York. I could tell you a hundred situations when I’ve been out with Carl on a Friday or Saturday night and people would come up to him and ask him if he had a minute. He never denied anybody. He’s here to help people. I believe he’s the clearest thinker in Western New York. His heart is for the people. He’s been trying to bring life back to this city. He’s been trying to bring life back to this state. He has made enough money in the world; he’s not in this for the money. He is not going to be a career politician. He is looking for one shot. He has no fear of enemies. He tells it like it is. He is what the people need.” ~ Bob Liguori
“Carl has been a wonderful business partner and nothing but an honest, genuine man to deal with. I’ve worked with him for 10 years.” ~ Jim McGuire
“I’m here supporting Carl because he’s a true independent businessman that has only one concern - to keep businesses and the working class growing in New York State. He is a man who understands coming from nothing and building an empire of his own. He wants to get the empire state back to being the empire state instead of the empire state of taxation, which has happened over the last 30, 40, 50 years. He’s a true man about business. He is the man that could do some real justice and help us all. “ ~ Frank Budwey

New York City Flips as Albany is Turned Upside-Down.
If it's Sunday, it's Hardline on WBEN radio. This morning on Hardline, host David Debo interviewed Carl Paladino to find out what really happened at this week's convention. To listen to the mainstream reporting this week, one would think that Carl Paladino left the Republican State Convention with a series of disappointments.
To put the convention in perspective, here is what actually occurred. An invincible political fortress built of arcane procedural rules specifically designed to repel invasions upon the entrenched ruling class -- a fortress which by all rights should have successfully blocked Carl Paladino from giving a convention speech -- was summarily smashed by my favorite Albany turner-upside-downerer.
Carl Paladino turned the convention upside-down by thinking on his feet and figuring out a way past the arcane rules that were designed to keep him from addressing the people. He found a loophole, nominated himself, and usurped the convention from the party leadership so that he could successfully appeal directly to the rank-and-file.
Now those party leaders are mad as hell too. You gotta love it!

Tax-and-spend is the disease. Paladino is the cure.
What do these 4 things have in common?
-Liberal Greece
-Liberal New York State
-Liberal Democrat politicians
-Liberal Republican politicians
Eventually they all run out of other people's money.
Greece demonstrations.
Their tax-and-spend chickens have come home to roost.
Their tax-and-spend chickens have come home to roost.
Carl Paladino is the cure for New York State's tax-and-spending.
When elected Governor, Carl Paladino will:
- Cut state spending by 20% across the board. He'll cut taxes and spending by ten percent in the first six months of his administration;
- Review every department and agency of state government to evaluate efficiency, effectiveness and necessity and cut programs not benefiting the taxpayer;
- Cut the State's income tax on manufacturing to keep these businesses in New York and attract new ones here;
- Require a minimum one-year residency in New York State before someone is eligible for Medicaid benefits;
- Limit the total time a State Legislator can serve to no more than 8 years;
- Eliminate the State Legislators' pension plans and their free lifetime health care coverage since serving in the State Legislature is a part-time position;
- Require a super majority of 60% of both Houses of the State Legislature in order to raise any state taxes;
- Eliminate the automatic cost of living pay raises State Legislators get and require legislators to vote to raise their pay and face their constituents; and
- Require State Legislators - including exempted attorneys - to fully disclose the amount and all sources of outside income to guard against conflicts of interest.

Paladino pushes on...
I joined this campaign to learn about the process of running for Governor and to become educated about the politics of New York State. Four weeks into the race, I am unimpressed with the political arena and, more specifically, the media. I have witnessed story twisting, finger pointing, blackmailing, plenty of dishonesty, even a bomb threat…attempts from all sorts of people who are threatened by the truth to force Carl Paladino out of this run. I am learning exactly why I avoided politics to begin with. It is disappointing, to say the least.
Now for the good news…Carl Paladino pushes on.
The inspiring part about this process is (despite all of the chaos) watching Carl, with his focus and determination stronger than ever, continue to deliver his message and his plan to end the corruption in Albany. There is no insult, no threat, no force strong enough to stop him either. He WILL be heard. And he should be. After all, when a man announces his candidacy for Governor, says he is not politically correct and isn’t going to pretend to be, is humble enough to admit his human mistakes and his imperfect life, exposes his business and family to the public, and is willing to spend millions of his own dollars to be heard…wouldn’t you think he had something pretty important to say?
I am tired of reading about meaningless gossip and personal character flaws of ALL of the candidates. Too much time has been wasted on this nonsense.
Carl Paladino knows business. Carl Paladino is about business.
Let’s get down to business, shall we?

Going Positive
I am going to try something unheard of in a political campaign. I am going positive.
Let’s compare the best features of Carl Paladino to the best features of The Other Popular Brand, just the way we do when we comparison shop for a new appliance.
To be extra positive, I’ll use real excerpts of our competitor’s published advertising.
The Other Popular Brand – general features as advertised:
“We support sustainable economy and a sustainable ecology. Industrial development is based on not having to pay the costs for most of the waste products it generates. We oppose the use of nuclear power until there is a safe way to dispose of waste (and if there is no safe way, don't use nuclear power at all).”
“We support labor, peace, people before profit, equality and social justice, the environment, immigrants’ rights and health care for all. Until we win enough support to CHANGE the system, we call for radical reforms.”
“Limit the power of corporations to dominate politics and the economy. Support the abolition of torture, total reform of the prison system, an end to the death penalty, the Employee Free Choice Act and the right of workers to join unions.”
“We will put the unemployed to work at union wages on massive public works programs to rebuild our cities, provide affordable housing for the homeless, build mass transit, and clean up the environment.”
“We support full equality for people of all races, for women and men, straight people and LGBT, for speakers of all languages, for young people and older people, and for people of all religious beliefs or none. The U.S. has millions of immigrant workers. We stand for full rights for these people, regardless of their documentation status. We believe in equality because it is just and right. Even more, the fight for equality is key to uniting for the changes we need.”
Now let’s examine our brand, Carl Paladino For Governor – general features:
We understand that government must abide by the boundaries set forth in state and federal constitutions.
We know that free enterprise and capitalism succeed, and government controlled economies fail.
We have learned unleashing the creativity of free enterprise is the only way to meet America’s energy and environmental needs and to protect America’s energy and environmental interests.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are only achieved through personal responsibility, not handouts. Being wasteful with those who are perfectly capable of being self-sufficient is a cruel inhumane attempt to create voter dependency. It robs them of their self-respect, dignity, and seriously limits the resources available to find and help the truly needy among us. We know that false political correctness is a societal disease.
We understand New York State government is too large, too corrupted, and too entrenched to fix itself. Special powers reserved for the Governor’s use during times of state of fiscal emergency must and will be executed by Carl Paladino when he is elected Governor. He will then immediately freeze all non-essential spending and immediately initiate tax cuts and spending cuts. He will cut state spending by 20% across the board. He will cut taxes and spending by ten percent in the first six months of his administration so that a minimum of 10% will be achieved by the end of the first 6 months.
We believe that jobs that have been usurped by our state government should be returned back to regular people in the private sector where they belong. We plan on observing the largest transfer in history of social responsibility, jobs, and wealth from the government to the private sector. We would like to see this process begin in earnest the moment Carl Paladino removes his hand from the Bible after being sworn in as Governor.
Summary comparison of Carl Paladino to The Other Leading Brand:
Both brands are considered reasonable by many reasonable people today. Many people will easily gravitate to one brand or the other. For those in the middle, we hope to welcome you to our camp.
Taken individually, many of our competitor’s statements may appear to be relatively rational, harmless ideas that are generally embraced by most Democrat leaders and many Republican leaders. In fact, taken in the context of political correctness, you would sound politically incorrect being generally against most of our competitor’s individual features.
Make no mistake. We are firmly against the politics standing behind our competitor’s representations as a whole. In fact, we could not feel more strongly about it. Concepts that used to be radical to Americans have slowly been progressively and incrementally promoted.
You may find it sobering that The Other Popular Brand statements were not taken directly from a mainstream Democrat source or even from a moderate Republican source. They were taken directly from the website of the Communist Party of America http://www.cpusa.org/faq.
Please visit it and see why things are such a great big huge mess. This is why the State of New York is going broke.
Meanwhile, our brand got its features from HERE
http://www.teachingamericanhistory.org/convention/froehlich/
The system that our ancestors fought and died to protect us from has successfully made its way into our mainstream sensibilities. Its concepts are no longer alien sounding. The inevitability of its destructive consequences is no longer alien either. We are living them. For the first time in history, many Americans do not believe that their children will inherit a better life. There is positively no other reason this has to be so.
New York State’s motto is “Excelsior”. It means “ever upward”. This was not meant to refer to our taxes and spending. They have turned this motto upside-down. Now it’s our turn - to turn Albany upside-down. Elect Carl Paladino Governor.

Carl Paladino In Marcy
I'm new to all of this political stuff and I have to admit, some of it I like and some of it really bothers my heart. I like the fact that more and more folks like myself are stepping up and participating. I like that we are all gaining knowledge and awareness, so we can hold ourselves and our representatives to a higher standard. I don't like the mud slinging, especially when the mud is invented. If the mud is fact, well that's another thing, but I'm not a fan of lying.
This past Monday, the 19th, Mohawk Valley Patriots hosted a Q&A with Carl Paladino. The organizer, Billie, a friend of mine, said she got some flack from a couple of members for even hosting such a man as Mr. Paladino. All of this, of course, was coming from 'the emails'. The owner of the location said that he even got a couple of phone calls from people that were not very nice at all. I found that to be very sad.
Billie said she went through a whole roll of Rolaids that day, she was so nervous! I was proud of my friend for standing up for her principles- all people have a right to be heard, a right to explain their side of the story, a right to apologize if need be. What she didn't know was that Carl Paladino is a good man, a humble man and a strong man. His character and fortitude can withstand any attack.
The event began. About 60 people were in attendance. They seemed eager to meet this man and eager to ask their questions, but ready to stand their ground no matter what. Carl introduced himself. He shared his educational and business background. He explained his view of government's role in society. He apologized for the offense those emails may have caused. He made amends and got onto the business at hand.
Every one of those 60 people not only accepted Carl's apology, but they jumped on board with Carl with both feet! They want a real person with real character, with real courage, with real principles in the office of governor. They want someone who is not afraid of making others uncomfortable with truth. They want someone willing to speak up for truth and call out what is false. They want Carl Paladino for governor. So do I.
By the way, my friend, Billie, might not ever need a package of Rolaids again. She is a true leader and this past Monday's event proved that.

Carl Shines Despite Bright Media Scrutiny
I am pleased to see the media vetting of New York State gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino continues in earnest. The media do not want to repeat their grievous error in the recent national election - they gave the winning candidate a total pass.
Phase I of the media vetting process occurred right out of the gate when Carl Paladino’s innocent 9-year-old daughter was summarily subjected to unimaginably cruel public humiliation. Carl passed thorough scrutiny when it was determined that he was a proud loving and attentive father who behaves like many proud loving attentive fathers.
In Phase II, the media utilized a less imaginative boiler-plate journalism 101 vetting tool - racism assertion. It is also being deployed on a national basis against all Tea Party candidates. Diligent adherence to the “Standards of Professional Journalism” is being demonstrated this election by taking the extraordinary precaution of asserting that every single Tea Party supporter is a racist.
Carl Paladino passed the racism vetting with truly amazing success. You would expect that under the level of scrutiny that Carl Paladino was placed under, that a city’s largest landlord would have at least several individuals come forward who had been denied a lease and went away suspecting that they may have been discriminated against unfairly. I mean, what are the odds that nobody would come forward with a reasonable assertion of rent discrimination? Everybody had good things to say about Carl. They couldn’t find anyone with sour grapes. Carl is either the cleanest landlord in history or the luckiest.
Phase III involves the examination of Carl Paladino’s business practices. The city’s toughest professional investigative reporter published an exhaustive front page above-the-fold, banger-headline Sunday paper analysis. Once again, Carl came up squeaky clean. How unlikely is that?
The investigative analysis found that despite being politically connected and having every opportunity in the world to capitalize on his access, Carl Paladino has won every single government contract simply by being the most competitive. This has to be a first!
The investigative analysis also concluded that Carl was efficient at completing government requirements to qualify for business tax incentives. A “business tax incentive” means that after they tax you to death, the government incentivizes you to breathe by relaxing their grip on your neck. I agree with this analysis, too.
Not only has Carl Paladino not taken advantage of his political connections, he has millions to lose by rocking the boat.
No wonder some people are still skeptical about Carl Paladino’s qualification for public service. He is too darned honest.

Anatomy of a TV Smear
On Friday April 16th, WGRZ-TV news reporter Josh Boose woke up and decided it was his turn to take a bite out of Carl Paladino. The media frenzy over emails Carl had allegedly forwarded was nearly over, but Boose had not yet hit the hometown candidate for Governor.
Never mind that the emails were private and questionably acquired. Never mind they could be fakes and were leaked by Rep. Brian Higgins to a Democrat operative. Boose didn't want to do original reporting - he arrived with a pre-written redundant report where he could amplify the Liberal media's charge of racism.
Carl was slated to speak Friday night at a Fredonia State University Business Club annual dinner - a non-political event celebrating a local business leader's accomplishments. Boose decided to leave Buffalo early for the college and stake out Carl, hovering around campus until the Ellicott Development CEO arrived.
According to FSU officials, Boose and his cameraman (a decent guy) arrived at 2:30pm; we didn't arrive from New York City until 6:00pm. Boose sat in the TV truck for almost four hours instead of using that time to pursue a fresh angle on the story. Maybe look into the origin of the email leak, or find out why Rep. Higgins organized the smear. Ask the community if Carl Paladino is a racist. Something interesting, something that required some journalistic expertise - news.
We arrived at the university and Carl agreed to do a short interview before the event. In short order, Boose called Carl racist four different ways. He kept leaning into Carl, even as our candidate backed away to cool off the exchange. Carl reacted as any normal man or woman would to such a blatant smear.
The interview overheated and then stopped abruptly.
I approached Boose as they parted and told him in no uncertain terms that I did not appreciate him calling my friend a racist. I tapped on his chest as I let him know that I have been in this business twice as long as he and I don't play gotcha with reporters.
After Boose heard my point, I asked him to try interviewing Carl again.
The second attempt went better, and Carl went inside to give an excellent speech about his business career to a full house of Fredonia graduates, parents and faculty.
By the 11:00pm WGRZ newscast, campaign staffers gathered to watch the result of the aggressive "gotcha" interview. We expected Boose to twist the TV story terribly, but it was actually rather fair - considering he had badgered Carl and called him a racist.
However, when the story was posted online at midnight, the headline was a blatant smear: PALADINO DEFENDS RACIST EMAILS. You can see our screen grab of the headlines HERE.
Campaign staff jumped into action and called the WGRZ-TV newsroom at 12:15am. The headline was a smear, we said, and was wholly inaccurate - Carl had apologized for the emails in the Boose story. The headline was therefore defamatory and legally actionable, and we demanded it be taken down immediately. The news staffer on duty agreed to contact the station manager right away.
At 12:30am the staffer called us back to say the station manager had been awakened and informed of the complaint. After a management review of the TV story, the order came down to change the headline immediately. The headline was then taken down from the WGRZ home page, but remained defamatory on another page. At 1:00am campaign staff recalled the news station staffer, who apologized profusely and simply disabled the video page for the night.
By morning, the TV story was back up with a corrected headline: PALADINO CAMPAIGN STILL GOING.
The overnight staffer told us that Boose had written the headline and entered it on the WGRZ Web pages himself. Immediately after publishing the online smear, Boose had left for the night.
Clearly Josh Boose was on a mission from the moment he reported to the newsroom on Friday: My Turn to Smear Carl Paladino.
For his careless and aggressive reporting, Boose is now banned from covering the Paladino for Governor campaign. We have informed WGRZ that they remain invited to cover our crusade to take back Albany - but Boose is not welcome anywhere near Carl Paladino.
Here's our campaign version of an old axiom: Smear me once, shame on you. Smear me twice, shame on me.
This campaign won't tolerate Liberal smears, cheap reporters tricks or manipulative reporting by the media. If you do it, you're banned. We will not give biased journalists a second shot at smearing Carl Paladino.
Goodbye, Josh Boose. We hardly knew ye.

The Carl Paladino I Know
I have known Carl Paladino since we were 18 years of age and freshmen in college. I love him as a brother. He is the most honest, hardest working person I have ever known. As brothers, we disagree on many issues and have had spirited discussions regarding our points of view.
Along with a long list of other classmates, we have been busting on each other for over 40 years and take it as intramural sport to get one up on each other or gang up on anyone who says something we think is stupid. We play at it for laughs and for the enjoyment of each of us who follow the daily commentary.
This is locker room humor at its very immature best and is for the enjoyment of those who have known each other for a very long time. It can sometimes be outrageous and our outrage is always put in writing for all to see. That was the case with those offensive emails that we all received and for which candidate Carl is taking the heat. One can read all of our comments and see that when we felt a comment or intended joke was out of line, we called it just as journalists are doing today.
I am not a teabagger, and am a graduate of their hated training ground for liberal elites, The Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. With those credentials, you can see the fault line of where Carl and I disagree.
But as I said, I love him like the brother he has been to me and I support much of what he says about issues of governance facing the state of New York. I may not like the way he says it, but he is trying desperately to speak truth to power and to help the citizens of this State get a better government.
From knowing him as I do, you can take those statements as coming from the burning bush. He is the one who has been in the trenches of saving Buffalo and Western New York from slipping into a welfare state and who has put his own blood, sweat, and tears into saving his beloved Buffalo from fiscal collapse. Buffalo does not have many champions and none as passionate as Carl. Think about it. Buffalo New York is not the place to go to earn your first million, or to start a development corporation.
The fact that Carl has been able to make money in Buffalo is testimony to his extremely hard work ethic and dedication. If he had not been successful, think of the Ellicott Square Building as a parking lot, or an empty historic, landmark.
Yes he made money but he also pays the largest amount of taxes in downtown Buffalo. You can image how mad he gets when he sees his City being mismanaged and his development efforts being thwarted by incompetency. Taxes in New York State are out of control and have been for decades. So is the State Legislature. All of this at the expense of the taxpayer and businessmen and citizens like Carl.
A vote for Carl to get into the arena is the best way to bring truth to power and to expose those who have gamed the system for their own benefit. I know this man. I love and admire this man. I believe with all that I know about him that he is in this race to do good for the citizens of New York.
Why is he going through all of this? He does not need money or fame. He has put his reputation, his humanness and all the honors he has amassed over the decades on the line because he wants to leave his State a better place for his entrance into the cesspool of politics. Do not let anyone tell you differently. I know this man. Agree with him or not but Carl is on a truly heroic mission.

Reports Of Our Demise Have Been Exaggerated
Today's synchronized mainstream media mantra is, "If you are planning on ever becoming a politician there are certain things you simply mustn't do."
It is funny how just last week they were accusing Carl Paladino of secretly pre-planning his entry into politics. Once again they have saved us the energy of proving them wrong.
What is true however, is that Carl Paladino has prepared himself for politics the same way that most people have prepared themselves to be voters in this next election:
1) He worked his rear off for his entire life.
2) He got ripped off six ways till Sunday by a corrupted state government.
3) He got mad as hell.
The very last thing that I want is a candidate that DOES behave like a person “groomed” for politics. We are counting on Paladino because he can change the system – and not be changed by the system.
This forwarded email jokes business demonstrates that the ruling elite is freaking out over Carl Paladino and that he is truthful about his spontaneous launch into politics. He didn't get a fake'n bake suntan, a $400 haircut, or bother erecting phony public facades. (Carl only builds real buildings.)
"If you are planning on ever becoming a politician there are certain things you simply mustn't do."
How about, "If you are ever planning on turning Albany upside down – prepare yourself like Carl Paladino." Then get mad as hell.

Carl Will Think and Speak For Himself...
It is fortunate and predictable that the Paladino campaign has been provided opportunities to demonstrate how best to strip “political correctness” of its destructive powers. Like myself, I know that other Paladino supporters recognize false political correctness as a fraud and a societal disease based on intimidation and personal destruction. This is exactly the type of thing that we are so upset about and standing up against.
We are mad as hell about political correctness.
Political correctness is utilized to make eggshells out of innocent normal behavior hoping to spring a “gotcha” trap and accuse you of the most horrific contrivances - almost always sex perversion or racism. Make no mistake: an example of healthy normal behavior is not political correctness.
No one is safe from political correctness.
Until now.
Carl Paladino understands that the best way to destroy false political correctness is to refuse to participate in its legitimization. Simply refuse to give it any power. That is how it will be destroyed. Look it in the eye and don’t flinch - two things that are easy to do when you are mad as hell.
Please join me and we shall be the vanguard of a Carl Paladino PC Liberation Movement! Walk to the window, stick your head out and yell this pledge as I have:
"If and when I do state an opinion on any subject, the world can be assured that I will be stating what I honestly believe and not what the hijackers of the English language delineate to me is properly conforming to the boundaries of their ideologically corrupt "new-speak". I think and speak for me - and I am free to call 'em as I see 'em because I have cast off the shackles of false political correctness. I am PC Liberated! I shall express myself truly - and truly offend no one."
I’m liberated as hell! I’m voting for Carl Paladino!

In the Midst of the Chaos...Carl Will Be Carl
One week into the campaign, the intensity level has skyrocketed. Things are moving at a ridiculously fast pace. It feels like we went from a slow-motion picture to a full-blown action packed movie in the blink of an eye. I don’t think anyone was prepared for the hurricane that it now feels like we are all in the middle of. Cameras, phones, computers, meetings, signs, special events, travel, busses, interviews, security, speeches, media…all in fast forward and the to-do-list doesn’t ever seem to end. The emotion from the campaign members ranges from: excitement, motivation, aggression, love, concern, panic, protection…all resulting from the realization of the pace at which Carl and this campaign are moving forward.
This, my friends, is what I am observing in the midst of the chaos…
Most everyone around this table would do anything it took to see Carl succeed. Why? Because people love him. And not just these people. Family, friends, co-workers, volunteers, strangers - of all ethnicity - that are lucky enough to engage in any level of one-on-one communication with Carl…despite his anger, despite his aggression, despite his politically incorrect language and state of play, despite his mistakes, despite his imperfect life…people LOVE this man. People BELIEVE in this man.
Why?
What Carl has that so many other people lack is a clear identity of who he is. He is not hiding behind anything…and he is willing and capable of connecting with people at a very deep and personal level. He cares. He feels. He is driven. He wants to make a difference, not just for New York State, but also in his every day life. He says what he feels, and he truly means what he says. He is a doer. He leaves people feeling motivated and wanting more.
It is completely refreshing to witness someone in the political arena say “I am not apologizing for who I am”. Carl is going to be Carl no matter what. The Carl Paladino I know is not a racist man. He is going to speak his mind no matter what ethnicity his message targets. His interest lies not in discrimination, but in exposing and solving problematic issues. Love him or hate him you are always going to get the real deal. There is a level of respect and security that comes from that kind of honesty, and it continues to spark my interest and belief in this man.

Seeking only the truth...
When Carl Paladino asked me what my thoughts were on politics, my answer was honest, direct and without hesitation. “I’m not interested in politics. I think that politicians lie, cheat and steal.” Carl then told me he was going to run for Governor of New York State and asked me to join his campaign. He told me he was going to unveil the truth, turn Albany upside down, take out the trash, and clean up the State. That was a moment I will always remember because it was those words, spoken from a man who means what he says, that sparked an interest and some faith in this non-believer.
I was curious as to how I would fit in to this campaign, knowing little to nothing about the political arena. I was assured that my lack of knowledge would be beneficial as I would be able to witness this process and blog my experiences with a fresh perspective.
And so it begins…a non-political woman, curious about what it takes to become the Governor of New York State, seeking only the truth…and delivering to you my truth.

Welcome!
Welcome to the new Web site for Carl Paladino's campaign for Governor of New York State! My name is Jennifer Silvestri. I am a volunteer on the Paladino campaign. I am from the Buffalo area and I know Carl as most everyone in Buffalo does - he's successful, he's outspoken, he's unafraid, he's opinionated, and, yes, he's Mad as Hell! But I also know Carl as brilliant, generous, open-hearted, community-focused, kind, and empathetic. He's a loving family man, with beautiful children and grandchildren who are deeply involved in moving our city forward.
I also know Carl as one of our city's strongest advocates. During the darkest times of deep recession, Carl was building in Buffalo. When nobody else would step in to improve areas lost to the ravages of a collapsed economy, Carl was building. He's embraced beloved but crumbling landmarks of Western New York, restored them and even improved them to the amazement of everyone. Some people just talk about hope and change. Carl has brought our region real hope and change you can touch and measure.
Above all, it is important for everyone to know Carl is not politically correct. Sometimes what he says will rankle, offend or even enrage. Buffalonians know Carl is not PC and that he speaks his mind and tells it like it is. And we like him that way just fine. We haven't gotten that kind of straight talk from New York politicians in our lifetime, so be ready for a campaign like none you've seen before.
I am proud to be blogging in support of Carl's candidacy. And if you want to join Bloggers for Paladino, please contact me at Blog@Paladinoforthepeople.com!
